This April, our Cambodia factory came alive with laughter, music, and the joyful splash of water as we joined our local team in celebrating the Khmer New Year (Choul Thmey). More than just a production site, our Cambodian facility stands as a vibrant community where East Asian craftsmanship meets the rich cultural traditions of Southeast Asia.
Over the festive days, management and production staff set aside the usual buzz of sewing machines and sample tables to gather in the courtyard for the iconic water-blessing ceremonies. Buckets and gentle sprays flew back and forth—not just as playful tradition, but as symbolic gestures of washing away the old year’s hardships and welcoming fresh beginnings. Local workers taught colleagues from China and abroad the traditional Angkor dance steps, while our team shared stories of cross-border collaboration that has defined SYNBERRY’s manufacturing journey.
"These moments remind us that the bags we craft carry more than goods; they carry the spirit of the hands that make them," noted our Plant Director. "When we invest in our people’s happiness, we invest in the precision and pride woven into every stitch."
The attached video captures these unscripted scenes of connection: engineers laughing under cascading water, quality-control specialists trading traditional krama scarves, and the entire floor pausing for a communal meal of amlok trei and fresh coconut.
As we move into the new year on the Cambodian calendar, we extend our warmest wishes to our extended SYNBERRY family across Phnom Penh and China. May this Sangkran bring prosperity, health, and continued partnership to all who contribute to our shared success.
Happy Khmer New Year from all of us at SYNBERRY.
